More about Sokoły
SOKOLY (“Falcons” in Polish) is a team of young performers who present traditional dances and songs of Poland. Sokoly, A Lowiczanie Ensemble for Kids, was founded in April 2015 under the umbrella of Lowiczanie Polish Folk Dance Ensemble. The mission of the group is to introduce children to Polish folk traditions and to encourage their desire to promote their Polish heritage. During weekly classes children dance, sing, and work on various art projects that illustrate Poland’s language, history and customs. Sokoly Ensemble welcomes children aged 5 -15 years. All performers are provided with the richly-ornamented authentic national and regional costumes of Poland. The group is directed by volunteers: Gosia Wojciechowska – general management; Piotr Irby – dance; Kasia Hudack – music; Basia Stepaniuk – costumes. The young performers’ enthusiasm and engagement on-stage demonstrate that Sokoly kids share the same passion for Polish folk dance as their older counterparts from Lowiczanie.
